Welcome to DROP IT challenge, raising money for CLEAN WATER
DROP IT Challenge
We’ve teamed up with Compassion Australia to raise money for clean water filters for families living in poverty. But we need your help! That’s why we’re issuing the DROP IT challenge.
The challenge
Get involved - it's simple! Join the fight for clean water. Get sponsored and drink nothing but water for one week to raise funds for clean water filters. If it sounds hard, it’s worth it. By getting involved, you’ll help give families clean, safe water for a lifetime!
Why water?
Every year, over three million people die from drinking unsafe water – many of them children. Around the world, there are 800 million people who don’t have access to safe drinking water. Fiona Mutesi was one of them. Without access to clean water, she would walk kilometres to collect dirty water that would frequently make her sick with diarrhoea and other waterborne disease. Fortunately, Fiona and her family received a Compassion clean water filter. Now she has access to clean, safe water every day.
Each time we take a sip of clean, safe water it’s a reminder that not everyone is so fortunate. By taking the challenge to raise money for water filters, we can impact the lives of families in poverty.

Sunday March 22 (World Water Day) to Sunday March 29.
What exactly are we raising money for?
Funds raised will go towards the purchase of Compassion Australia’s Water of Life clean water filters, which provide children living in poverty and their families with clean, safe water for a lifetime!
The filter lasts a lifetime? Seriously?
Each Water of Life system can provide over three million litres of safe water, without needing to be replaced. Each filter is made up of tiny micro tubes with pores that are hundreds of times smaller than the diameter of a human hair, using the same technology developed for kidney dialysis. These pores remove deadly bacteria and allow only clean water to pass through. They take minutes to set-up, can be easily maintained and cleaned, and families can then immediately start using the system. The units are proven and tested by doctors and the United Nations. Cool, hey!

Can I still eat food?
Yes, please do! We’re only asking you to give up any drinks that aren’t water.
I love this idea. What else can I do?

- Get your school involved; host an out of uniform day at school
- Get your girlfrieds around for an afternoon tea with cupcakes and cups of water
- Share the challenge and your goal through social media,
- Change your facebook banner for the week.
- Drop everything but water for one week and let's provide families with safe, clean water for life!
- And pray. Each time you crave some sugary goodness or caffeine, it’s a reminder that some don’t have access to the very basic of needs.
How do I sign up?

How much do I need to raise?
You don’t need to raise a set amount. Every dollar helps! The clean water units are valued at around $75 each. You may like to use this as a guide for your fundraising. For example, if you would like to provide four families with water filters, you could aim to raise $300.
By fundraising for Compassion, you are releasing children from poverty. Through partnership with churches on the ground in more than 26 countries, Compassion gives the world’s poorest children all the love and support they need, plus the physical and practical help they so often lack. We release them from poverty and give them the tools to build a future in which their own children will be free of the desperate life they were born into. Thank you for your support.
